Natasya was born in Christchurch in 1972. In 1974 her parents moved to Auckland where Natasya grew up as the eldest of three children.
At 17 years of age Natasya left school and worked in variety of retail jewelers where she loved working with newly engaged couples.
A
PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
In 1993 Natasya moved to Queenstown for the change of scenery. The amazing
landscapes lead to a passion for photography. Meeting many a travellers
in Queenstown fuelled Natasya’s own dream to travel. Natasya headed
back to Auckland before buying a one way ticket to London via Melbourne
and Los Angeles to start her OE.
In London she managed a Silversmith shop in Piccadilly Arcade opposite
an art gallery which held amazing photography exhibitions. While in London
she travelled to Paris, Amsterdam, Europe, Africa and Thailand where she
loved taking photographs of the local children with her Pentax camera.
In 1999 Natasya headed home where she decided to study full time. In 2002 after graduating Natasya became a corporate trainer and coach. During this time she met her husband Carl in 2004. Soon after; Natasya purchased her first Canon SLR 400D camera and loved it. The same year she went back to Queenstown to do a photography course with NZ photography extraordinaire’s Jackie Rankin and Mike Langford. Natasya then spent 6 weeks travelling India with Carl taking thousands and thousands of photos, while their first home was being built in Auckland.
In 2007 Natasya and Carl were married in Whitianga, Coromandel, where Carl’s parents live.
PORTRAITURE
During Natasya’s own pregnancy she
decided to put her experience and that of her pregnant friends into photographs.
Many of her friends were keen for pregnancy portraits, so Natasya bought
professional lighting and set up a studio. In September 2009 she had her
son Leo and now LOVES taking photos of him.
As a parent Natasya loves working with families, family photography is
what she calls ‘a happy job’, 'people come to us because they
want to record each special stage as their children grow and change’.
Natasya is combining her two greatest pleasures at the moment, her family
with her photography. In order to keep overheads (and therefore the cost
of your photos down) Natasya has moved the business into the basement
where she has the photography studio, viewing room and office.
Natasya clients include many Auckland families, Lincoln University, Auckland Hospital, Eco Linen which shows in Smith and Caugheys and Baby City.
